The Premier Edition of two days Jaigarh Heritage Festival to kick from 27th December

The Premier edition of Jaigarh Heritage Festival will be held from 27-29th December in the Pink CIty, Jaipur at the historic Jaigarh Fort. The festival is aimed to showcase the rich heritage of the city and contribute to the city’s development as a tourist destination. This event is organised by Teamwork Arts in collaboration with Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh.

Singh shared his sentiments that the festival celebrates Jaigarh’s historical significance as one of the royal state’s oldest bastions and his family’s commitment to arts, culture and heritage of Jaipur and Dhurandhar region.

The first night of the festival is an invite only event which will feature morning concerts at the fort terrace with breathtaking views, with performers like Sandeep Singh, who is set to revive the rare bowed instruments such as Dilruba and Taus. Followed by performances by Shyopat Julia, Nathulal Solanki, Kalbelia dancers and folk poets. The evening part will be aesthetically called ‘Jaigarh at Dusk’ presenting performances by the likes of Malini Awasthi and Classical Dancer Rukmini Jaikumar and Percussion ensemble Tal Fry.

Apart from cultural events, the festival will also offer an array of activities for handicrafts and local artisans and artistry like Blue Pottery and Applique Embroidery, under The Craft Courtyard segment. The heritage trails will introduce delegates to the storied pasts of Jaigarh Fort, perched atop Cheel Ka Teela in the Aravalli range, showcasing Jaipur’s military brilliance and architectural grandeur. The evenings will have thrilling Jaigarh Night Walks through hidden passages, uncovering the fort’s history.

Additionally, the festival will also have conversations on art, architecture, Jaipur & India’s heritage history with a panel comprising acclaimed speakers and historians. No city heritage history is complete with culinary angle, thus, the festival will host Rajasthani delicacies and choicest of global cuisines.
