Heritage Conclave on 7th December by Uttar Pradesh Tourism Board

The state of Uttar Pradesh has the most diverse tourism landscape. From Kashi, Mathura to Sarnath to Ayodha-the state is known as a holy address for many religions along with the glorious history of Awadh, kothis, forts, palaces, and mansions. To showcase and leverage the heritage for the betterment of state tourism, the state board is hosting a Heritage Conclave on 7th November in the state capital.

The conclave is looking forward to hosting over 250 hoteliers, Real Estate Consultants, investors across the country and globe. The intent is to present the rich heritage properties for transformation and revamp and thus attract more tourists. Other states in India like Gujarat and Rajasthan have already set an example by making optimum usage of the heritage of the state to boost the tourism and hospitality sectors. Along with professionals, the conclave will also engage with 60 Royal Family representatives from the state. The government aims to encourage the royal families to let their properties be repurposed.

The state already records a heavy tourist footfall due to the spiritual tourism. According to State Tourism and Cultural Minister, Jaiveer Singh, the state welcomed over 48 crore tourists in the year 2024. The upcoming year will feature the once in 12 years Magnum Opus of Kumbh Mela and predicts intense tourist traffic, at the triveni sangam of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati at Prayagraj. The royal and historical properties could invoke a sense of intrigue for history, and architecture lovers. Also, the ambience at these properties could make them ideal locales for destination weddings, wellness centers, and much more.

The board has already leased signed six properties- Chunar Fort in Mirzapur, Baruasagar Fort in Jhansi, Chattar Manzil in Lucknow, Barsana Mahal in Mathura, Shukla Talab in Kanpur Dehat, and Roshan-ud-Daula in Lucknow- on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed on the day of the conclave.
