Diljit Dosanjh makes a plea to PM to promote tour culture in India for musicians

The current heartthrob of Indian Music, Diljit Dosanjh, recently met honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modiji. The pictures and videos of the meet went viral and were talk of the town. The two discussed everything under the sun, from Gujarat’s Jalebi Fafda to PM Modi’s initiative of Ek Ped Maa ke naam (One tree for your mother) and WAVES () to the glory of Sikh Culture.

The noteworthy part of the conversation, however, was Diljit making a verbal proposal of initiating and encouraging music tour culture in India. He cited the prevalent culture in the west where performers schedule multiple city tours in one country, therefore reaching a wider audience with their music and craft. Additionally, the Punjabi singer also referred to big ticket shows like Coachella, an annual music festival held in Indio, California, USA, where he performed in 2023. Diljit mentioned how India’s range of cultural diversity is way higher and therefore the scope of such events is wider in India. He shared his insights on Indian culture and music, saying that despite being a professional artist, he sometimes feels humbled by the folk talent India has. This discussion is important considering Diljit’s open announcement of not performing in India till the infrastructure is up to the mark.

Diljit recently concluded his Dil-Luminati Tour in India.
