Asha Bhosale renders a soulful track at the age of 91
Legendary singer Asha Bhosale has recently released a new track titled Saiyyan Bina. The song also features her granddaughter Zanai Bhosale. The song is produced by Apni Dhun channel and was released on December 13th,2024, on their YouTube channel.
The video opens with the singer giving a tribute to her father and respected musician and composer, Master Deenanath Mangeshkar. Followed by a picture of her sister, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar. The video further flows with an album of pictures of her and her late husband, the maestro R D Burman or popularly known as Pancham. The song has a nostalgic connotation to it with a tinge of pain. The song is also heavily classical based. The video too depicts beautiful footage of her granddaughter Zanai, who is a trained kathak dancer, performing to the tunes of the song.
The song is penned by Mahimma Bhardwaj and as the title suggests it speaks of living without the beloved. Taking her legacy forward, Zanai, who is a multi-faceted artist, has also featured in this video, making it a beautiful video of grand-daughter and grand-mother, a first of its kind.
Asha Bhosale, who has ruled the film music, has previously too come out with many singles like Janam Samjha Karo, remix of O mere Sona re, both of which had become raging hits and part of 90’s pop culture. She had also collaborated with Code Red, a British band. The legendary singer who has been singing for the past eight decades and 11,000 songs has set another example by singing flawlessly at the ripe age of 91.
