India participates at the 18th International Apparel and Textile Fair (IAFT) at Festival Arena, Dubai
India has always been a hub for distinct textile-in terms of vibrant colors, patterns, fabrics, and even weaving methods. At the ongoing 18th International Apparel and Textile Fair (IAFT) at Festival Arena, Dubai, India is representing its glorious tradition and culture. India’s leading two important textile export promotion councils- the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) and the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), are leading a delegation of over fifty Indian textile exporters. From traditional handlooms to sustainable fashion, HEPC is promoting India’s rich heritage to the fullest. The representation is in the form of manufacturers, artisans, designers who are showcasing India’s age old as well as innovative and latest methods incorporated in the country's textile industry.
Indian textile industry, one of the rare industries to be dominated by women, has over 50 million workforce and contributes 2% to the country's revenue. It also ranks third globally in textile exporter and second in cotton, polyester, and silk production.
The IAFT, 450 participants across the globe will be showcasing their range of fabrics, prints, home furnishing, footwear among many others. The bi annual fair will display Autumn-Winter 2025 and Spring-Summer 2025 collections will running till November 14th, 2024.
