India is having a fashion moment-Kareena Kapoor Khan
At a recent appearance, Kareena Kapoor Khan couldn’t stop raving about India’s fashion moment on a global stage. The actress who herself is known for sartorial choices in fashion, and has donned all major couture brands, insisted that Indian fabrics and textiles actually are eye-catching on a global scale.
Quoting her, “ Whether it's Cannes, IIFA, or just the access to the (Insta) Gram, please are just looking for Indian fashion and I am happy for the fashion moment India is having.”
She also gave all the credit to the great craftsmanship, “I feel Indian Craftsmen and Heritage are finally getting their due. Indian designers like Amit Agarwal or Manish Malhotra are using the Indian Artisans to the core.”
However, this is not the first time that the actress has promoted Indian Textiles. Way back in 2009, she had made news for wearing a beautiful handmade black chanderi saree that was gifted to her by her 3 Idiots co-star Aamir Khan. Both the stars traveled all the way to Chanderi,Madhya Pradesh to see the weaving process of an authentic Chanderi saree.
Back then she had expressed her amazement on how the weavers work tirelessly for 8-10 hours daily and earn a meager Rs 50 per day while the designers earn in thousands for selling the same product.
