Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna has been in the news for all right reasons of late. His venture, Bungalow, in the upscale area of New York city, has grabbed enough attention for its culinary delights. However, what makes the venture even more loved, is the personal touch that the chef and his team adds, representing the true famous Indian Hospitality.


After Sarah Jessica Parker, the latest Hollywood celebrity to be hosted at the restaurant is Devil Wears Prada fame, Anne Hathway. While a big name in Hollywood, Anne Hathway, is also special for Vikas Khanna. The reason being that his sister, Radha, in whose memory he has built the restaurant, was a huge fan of the star, especially her film Devil Wears Prada. The chef remembered how he and his sister found solace in watching Devil Wears Prada over and over again during the time she was hospitalized.


To mark the love and respect, Khanna gifted Anne Hathway the iconic Mysore Sandal Soap, known for its peculiar aroma and considered to be a part of Indian heritage. Further, to bring an amalgamation of North and South, Chef also gifted the soap in a marble box, handcrafted and designed in Agra along with a book Kiss of Kashmir. The gift not only represented Indian Hospitality but also India’s diverse artistic aspect-culinary, art, literary. The Chef has openly admitted his love for the soap, established in the early 20th century, manufactured by Karnataka Soaps and detergent, owned by Karnataka Government.
