Michelin Star Indian chef gets a nod from Quintessential New Yorker!

They say, everything fine in New York City needs validation by Carrie Bradshaw. So, our India’s very own MasterChef Vikas Khanna has ticked that box! Sarah Jessica Parker, famously known by her screen name Carrie Bradshaw, recently visited Vikas Khanna’s NYC restaurant Bunglow, leaving the Sex and the City star mesmerized with ‘magical’ and ‘extraordinary’ Indian culinary treats, culture, and hospitality.

Sarah, along with her actor-husband Matthew Broderick, recently visited the tony restaurant to indulge in some Indian traditions, food, and culture. She was seen lighting an incense candle, typical to Indian ambience. In the video posted by Vikas Khanna, she is also seen paying her heartfelt tribute to radhika Khanna, chef’s sister, who passed away two years ago. The video also depicts Khanna planting a rajnigandha flower on the actor’s hair.

Bungalow that was opened just this year is already listed in the New York Times list of top 50 restaurants by September 2024. One scroll through the instagram handle of the restaurant and what stands out is that it is frequented by Mega stars like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan or someone like Sarah Jessica Parker but also many common people celebrating milestones of their loved ones, or just feeling homesick in foreign land also walking in to dig in Indian meals in NYC. Recently, Vikas Khanna featured the Besan and Saffron burfi made by the 96 year old Harbhajanji, who started her own sweet making start-up.

The Actor-Producer Sarah Jessica Parker posted on her Instagram handle praising the ‘journey through Indian States at the magical world located at 21st Avenue in NYC’. She also thanked New York based Indian designer Parbal Gurung.
