Namma: While most might think its just another South Indian restaurant, Namma specializes in Tulu cuisine. Tulu is sect prevalent in Northern Karnataka,-Udupi, Mangalore belt. Nav Kayastha Pangat: While the Kayastha community is spread across the country, the community native to Maharashtra are known for their cuisine. Nav Kayastha Pangat claims to be the only fine dine Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu (CKP) restaurant in the country. The pangat, for the unversed, is literally translated to traditional sitting for a meal. While it also serves vegetarian food, the menu seems delectable for a carnivore. From Chicken Sukka to Ghee Roast Chicken to Bombils and Pomfrets, the menu has something for every seafood and non-veg lover!


Naga Belly: Here is an exclusive Naga food place for those who dig on North east flavours. The restaurant has an outlet in Andheri, Mumbai. Started by childhood friends Aaron and Juillete who are born and raised in Dimapur Nagaland and then moved to Mumbai for their careers. However, during pandemic they were encouraged by friends to make Naga recipes, which were majorly loved and thus they were encouraged to start cloud kitchen and now have started a small cafe with limited seating in Mumbai. The menu is completely novel for an average Mumbaikar who only knows of Momo. From Pork Ribs to a fermented Grass crop beverage, to Purple Sticky Rice, Naga Belly promises to take the patron on a Nagaland trip right here in Mumbai.


Bamey's: A favorite with college going kids, Bamey's in Koramangala, Bengaluru is a slice of Nepal in Karnataka. Set on the busy streets, it's tough find but a pleasant one nonetheless. The decor is simple but resonates with Nepali culture with the colorful flags fluttering and the traditional sitting arrangements along with the regular tables setting. The walls are adorned by Nepalese Icons and menu with native culinary wonders. From trending Momos, Thupka, Wai Wai Noodles, to traditional Nepali thali of Dal Bhaat Tarkari comprising black dal, and Raddish pickle, it serves the appetite well and known to be cost effective too.
