Bringing India pride once again, Masterchef Vikas Khanna, has been honoured with Michelin 2024 Bib Gourmand Award for his restaurant Bungalow in upstate New York.Bungalow, a restaurant that is a tribute to Chef’s sister Radhika, who tragically passed away. The eatery has been a talk of the town with celebrities from Hollywood & Bollywood visiting it as well been a favorite with non-celebrities too. The honor is awarded to restaurants which serve delicious spreads at a reasonable price. The award, instituted almost three decades ago in 1997, has been the North Star for Michelin Guide followers to identify Value for Money restaurants. The price range differs country to country depending on various factors. What categorizes a restaurant as a Bib Gourmand restaurant is simpler and recognisable style of cooking. Bungalow is now in the league of Hoppers in London, and Edsoba Hosakawa in Tokyo, and fellow Indian origin restaurant Ishq by Vamshi Adi.

Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna has expressed his joy and commitment to ‘work harder and harder and give our guests a testament to Indian Hospitality.’

Previously, Vikas Khanna has been awarded with Michelin Star eight times; seven times for consecutive years. Apart from Bungalow, his restaurant Junoon, known for its Indian cuisine has been a loved place too.

Bungalow is inspired by the by-gone era symbol of social life, clubhouses. The etymology of the word is from the Bengali word Bangla. It is a representation of opulent clubs that designed Indian social life, its culture and history.

Recently, the restaurant was in the news with Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Hollywood star Sarah Jessica Parker visiting the place. From Shreemal to Sweet Potato chaat the restaurant offers a variety of Indian dishes in foreign land.
