The 18th Edition of Jaipur Literature Festival is scheduled from January 30 to February 3 at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur, features over 300 eminent speakers, with an interesting line up of debate, discourse and stories.

Few sessions with imminent Indian Authors that are interesting are as follows:

Our City That Year

International Booker Prize Winner Geetanjali Shree will speak about her novel Hamara Saher Us Baras literally translated to Our City That Year (By fellow international Booker Prize winner Daisy Rockwell). The book delves deeper into the psyches of a society marked by divisiveness of communalism.

India’s First Diplomats

Journalist Kallol Bhattacharjee’s Nehru’s First Recruits: The Diplomats Who Built Independent India’s Foreign Policy, will also be a part of JLF’s literary showcase. The book describes the journey of India’s first line of diplomats who walked between internal consolidation and external threats along with Nehruvian Policy. The author Bhattacharjee will be in conversation with former High Commissioner of India to Pakistan TCA Raghavan, author and former diplomat Navtej Sarna, former assistant secretary-general at the UN Lakshmi Puri and former High Commissioner of India to Canada, Vikas Swarup.

Amol Palekar: The Viewfinder

Distinguished actor-director-producer Amol Palekar recently launched his life memoir, The Viewfinder. He, Alongwith his wife & Filmmaker Sandhya Gokhale will share their journey and candid stories about their lives. Sanjoy K Roy, MD-TeamWorks & Festival producer will also join them on the discussion.

Two Sages: Gandhi and Tolstoy

An interesting friendship between Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and celebrated playwright and Author Leo Tolstoy had blossomed only through letters. Gandhi was deeply influenced by Tolstoy’s work The Kingdom of God is Within You. This unique bond between greats will be discussed between their respective heirs.
